Platform Engineer / DevOps Team Lead
Alden Scientific is transforming health and longevity by focusing on individuals, not averages. Our platform integrates multi-omic data and AI to deliver predictive, personalized insights—making proactive health management the new standard.
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer / DevOps Team Lead who thrives on building systems that enable this vision. In this hybrid role, you’ll be both hands-on and strategic: shaping the infrastructure that powers our scientific workflows, data pipelines, and AI-driven insights, while leading a small but growing team. The right candidate will have an outsized impact on our platform and the direction of engineering, with clear upward potential to become Head of Engineering as we scale.
Our strong preference is for candidates who can work in our Cambridge, MA office. Exceptional US-based remote candidates with proven success in distributed teams will be considered, with periodic travel to Boston for collaboration.

Work closely with front-end developers, data scientists, and researchers to bring ideas into production.
Developer Enablement
Build self-service platforms and abstractions that allow scientists to move seamlessly from prototype to production.

Design and maintain scalable AWS-based systems for data and AI workloads.
Develop CI/CD pipelines that streamline experimentation and deployment.
Data Systems
Manage secrets, identity, and access control to ensure security and compliance.
Operate and scale relational and graph databases for data-intensive applications.
You
3+ years in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or SRE, with leadership or mentoring experience.
Strong background in AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM).
Skilled in CI/CD pipelines, build/test/deploy automation.
Proficient in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
Production experience with Postgres.
Experience managing secrets and identity systems.
Intellectual curiosity and passion for individualized health.
Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams on data-heavy, AI-driven workflows.
